I wanted to get going on more of being a Doula today and went ahead and set up a blog specifically for all things baby.
What exactly is Anabellum417? Anabellum is a made-up word my father suggested because I am a Birth Doula, planning to get my certification in Antepartum (pre-partum) care, as well as post-partum and I offer belly casting and other pregnancy belly artwork. Ana stands for the work I do with moms before birth, the bell stands for all things baby belly related and the “um” stands for uhm, well, everything else. I liked it and so here we are. The 417 refers to our area code which helps people know the area I serve. So there you have it, Anabellum417.
I am a Birth-Doula, or childbirth companion, in the Springfield/Branson area of Missouri. I have trained with DONA and work with the Doula Foundation of Mid-America and my certification is pending final review. The website http://dona.org, can tell you all sorts of information on what a Birth Doula is and why it is so important to have one if you are expecting a baby. There will be times when I will share the benefits of having a Birth Doula on this blog.
I am so thankful to have the chance to work with women and families as they welcome a new life into the world. The birth of a child is such a miracle and to have the opportunity to be a part of it is such a gift.
Please check back with me often and check out my facebook page, Carrie Lynne – Birth Doula. If you have questions, please leave them here in the comments section, message me on my facebook page, or email me at email@example.com. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
